Belong to the Truth Jesus Christ

Lk:23:44-45. It was now aout noon and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon because of the eclipse of the sun. Then the veil of the temple was torn down in the middle.

I wonder what does it mean by the veil of the temple was torn down in the middle. Is it what really happened?

Another question: on Good Friday, is it OK that I didn't feel any sorrow? I feel Jesus is living... he's not dead.. So, I just felt nothing.. but I did feel grateful to Him for all He's done... but I just didn't feel sad...
