A tribute to Fr. Tim Vakoc, US Army Catholic chaplain, who died on Sunday, June 21, 2009, at St. Therese Care Center in New Hope, Minnesota, USA. A result of serious wounds he received from an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) while serving in Iraq in 2004.
He was injured by an IED (roadside bomb) as he was returning from celebrating mass with troops on May 29, 2004, the day before the 12th anniversary of his ordination as a priest.
